Riello UPS are proud to be supplying power protection systems for a complex video surveillance system being installed to safeguard one of the most iconic symbols of Milan.

Accepting an invitation from the Foundation Hruby and the Venerable Fabbrica del Duomo, Riello UPS delivered an advanced UPS system that will ensure continuous power to a sophisticated video surveillance system installed to protect and safeguard Milan Cathedral.  The largest Cathedral in Italy is visited each year by 5 million people (expected to rise to 20 million after Expo2015) and heads the list of vulnerable Italian heritage sites requiring protection.

The project , designed by Umbra Control of Perugia , includes the work of a number of technology partners:  Riello UPS have provided emergency power supplies , Samsung Techwin (part of the Samsung Group ) deals with physical security and surveillance, and A2A, who manage the systems responsible for forwarding captured images to the Police Headquarters.

Technologically advanced, and remote managed 24 hours a day, the site benefits from clean, continuous power provided by an energy efficient Riello UPS which ensures power to the surveillance systems even in  the event of a power failure or disruption.

This impressive and important project is the result of a successful collaboration between public and private sectors (with the support of local and national police) in order to safeguard both the structure of, and visitors to Milan Cathedral; protecting this spectacular national monument for years to come.
